Laugh and love your dog
I found a resistant quartz crystal in our garden yesterday and brought it to my desk to admire its beauty and reveal its mystery, as I write, like gazing into a crystal ball.
The five crystals in the center of it are right, in its own way wild like the days I spent in total conflict with myself, with society and the world.
It brings to mind one of my favorite stories Alphie, my German Shepard gold Collie 1960, the year before the town of Funk, which occurs several months after the caravan arrived in San Francisco community.
We find our large Victorian house after several weeks of illegal camping on the irregular Pacific coast and in the many hiding places for wildlife parks which the city is famous.
The people caravan had been unhappy, despite the constant dog / God's guidance around us.
A gulf developed between those who wanted to join the ranks of the world of work a day, and the four of us who came to establish the Funky Farm community and knew that was going to work was antithetical to the creative life seat of the pants.
I had come to a place within me where I needed to live outside the mainstream, established ho-hum 9-5'm shot, kill me Now the lifestyle I imagined my father to be attributed to his thirty-five years of work in the same place doing the same job every day. I would say that an exciting alternative, bet on it.
My life as an artist began in earnest tear.
One day, Alphie Lee took a walk in the park Golden Gate. A squirrel beloved distracted from memory, and damn if you do not run in front of a fast moving car. He crawled back to the side of the road.
I remember crying and kneeling beside her, passing over his body, get an idea of how badly he was hurt. A car stopped and asked a young man to take me to where I never wanted go.
There was an old blanket and placed it carefully.
Alphie and I then led to the large Victorian mansion that was our temporary abode.
We prepared a bed for her with blankets and rags.
She would look at us with a sad look Muki, the dog joined me 28 years then show me real love.
That look inspired me to slip into the meat department of a local Safeway, and stealing a steak from one day to her and for only.
Then we sat with her for hours, stroking her neck and body and encouraged her to get back to us.
The long intimate times spent with her were patient and happy. Not desperately defend her to live and not die. Rather, gently convinced us, showing his love, and gave him a great choice to live with a handful of rogues completely alienated from society.
She chose to spend a few more years with us in our experiment of life - dangerously.
